Know that on this day, i.e. after 4 long years, a special type of magazine also comes out. France's 'La Bougie du Sapeur' only comes out on February 29 in leap years.

G24H Digital Bureau: We all know that 2024 is a leap year. Last Thursday was the last day of the year, February 29. For people born on this day, something quite different happens. They can celebrate their birthday after 4 long years. But know that on this day, i.e. after 4 long years, a special type of magazine is also released. France's 'La Bougie du Sapeur' only comes out on February 29 in leap years.

The specialty of this 20-page tabloid is that it is published only on February 29, so once every leap year. The magazine was first published in 1980, and this year had its 12th issue. This magazine was conceived by a group of friends who wanted to laugh all their lives.Editor Jean D'Indy says, 'After the first issue sold out in two days, correspondents were clamoring for more copies - so we said OK, but after four years!'.

Mr D'Indy said, 'Some of our friends still get these copies out. We usually meet at the bar and discuss our ideas. If the reader does, it will be like extra cream on the cake'.

La Bougie is organised like a regular newspaper, with sections on politics, sports, international affairs, arts, puzzles and celebrity gossip. The magazine's last edition was in 2020, selling 120,000 copies that year despite Covid.
