Do you know what percentage of Microsoft's code is written with AI?

A significant portion of Microsoft's code is now being written using artificial intelligence (AI), said Satya Nadella, the company's chief executive officer (CEO). At the recent 'LamaCon' AI developer conference held in Menlo Park, California, USA, Satya Nadella said that 20 to 30 percent of the total code at Microsoft is currently written using AI.

Satya Nadella said at the conference, "I think about 20 to 30 percent of the code in our repository is written with AI. There are also some projects that are entirely created with AI or software. The use of AI in software development is increasing day by day and this reliance will increase in the future."

In response to a question at the conference about the use of AI in Meta's coding system, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that while there are no specific figures at the moment, half of Meta's software development work will be done by AI within the next year. Zuckerberg said, "We think that in the next year, more development will be done by AI than by humans. This rate will increase over time."

There has been a lot of talk in the tech industry recently about the trend of coding with AI. In April, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said during Google's first-quarter earnings call that about 30 percent of Google's new code is now being written with AI.
