Walton has been listed as a "licensed manufacturer" by Dolby


Walton, an electronics and technology company, has been listed as a "licensed manufacturer" by Dolby, an American company that specializes in sound engineering. As a result, Walton became a partner in making Dolby's official sound quality TV in Bangladesh.


"Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited is the first and only Bangladeshi TV manufacturer to achieve this distinction," a statement said. Dolby Laboratories is an American-based company that specializes in sound or audio technology. Dolby only allows licensed manufacturers to use its technologies.


Mostafa Nahid Hossain, CEO of Walton Television, had a meeting with senior officials of the company at Dolby's head office in San Francisco in January last year. Vivian E. Vasallo, Senior Director, Dolby Laboratories, was present at the meeting, among others. Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited was recently recognized as a "Licensed Manufacturer" of Dolby. Dolby has already added Walton Hi-Tech Industries to its list


Mostafa Nahid Hossain said, Dolby is the latest technology of sound or audio. Dolby considers a number of factors when licensing and partnering with an organization. These include the R&D center with the necessary equipment, production of TVs according to international standards, demand in the export market, significant market share in the local market, etc.


Rakibul Hasan, Central Lab Manager of Walton TV, said that Walton has received permission from Dolby to use MS12 packages including Atoms and DolbyAC-4 Consumer Decoder. As a result, they will be able to use all Dolby technologies including Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Atoms. Walton has 64 service centers across the country.
