Bangladesh will export hydroxychloroquine to Malaysia


Bangladesh will export hydroxychloroquine tablets for the treatment of new coronavirus patients in Malaysia. At the request of the Malaysian government, the Ministry of Commerce has relaxed the ban on the export of these drugs. Brigadier General Mahbubur Rahman, Director General of the Department of Drug Administration, told the media.

He also stressed on the need for Bangladesh and Malaysia to work together to address the current situation. He said his government was cooperating with Bangladeshis in Malaysia in the crisis caused by the new coronavirus.

Regarding the export of the drug, Director General Brigadier General Mahbubur Rahman said that Malaysia has requested the drug from Bangladesh for the treatment of Corona patients in their country. We will have no problem sending anything to the country. However, it will be exported only after meeting the needs of the country. He said that the export of this drug may start soon.

The Malaysian foreign minister also put emphasis on working together with Bangladesh in combating the deadly coronavirus.
